CHRIS WALKER'S NUMORUNE COLLABORATIVE

TANUPONYUHMAALA

ONE & TWO GATHER &

IN HONOUR OF LOCKS WITH KEYS AND COUPONS TO MY HEART

NuMoRune Collaborative presents a 15-minute program of 3 short works taken from “Generation Dancing” a dance and spoken-word project exploring immigration and migration stories using contemporary choreographic lens and elements of Hip Hop Theater. They represent the unique characteristics of dance and immigration narratives in the forms of text and physical dialogues, looking at how contemporary vocabulary has evolved as a direct reflection of the uniqueness of individual cultural challenges/experiences within shared geographical spaces. The work speaks to ownership and authority over one’s own narrative and encourages conversation and reflection on the self and community as distilled and challenged by the art created.
